Relational Mentoring

Relational mentoring represents the relational state of high-quality mentoring.

The Relational Mentoring Theory supports that mentoring relationships could be considered as Dysfunctional, Traditional, or Relational.  Unlike stages of quality in a connection like that give different results.

  • Dysfunctional Mentoring Relationships belong to the low quality category where it is possible to have negative consequences.

  • Traditional Mentoring Relationships are the mentoring connections of ordinary quality.

  • Relational Mentoring Relationships are high quality relations, where both sides gain further experiences, like mutual development, knowledge and career development.

Quality is a variable that is possible to change over time as the mentoring relationship grows.
